Hi there!

I’m looking for stories to read. If you’ve written something in historical fiction, fantasy, crime (or any other genre you think I’d like) then leave a link to your story in the comments. I’ll drop in and have a read. Maybe others will too!

If you’ve got the time, tell me about you or your writing as well. It doesn’t even have to be fiction, I’m in the middle of reading a seemingly endless novel and in dire need of a break!

Are you a story in your own right? Then just tell me about yourself!

  1. Uh oh, I’m guessing The Falcon Throne is dragging? I’m sending you the link to my short stories page. http://drmegsorick.com/short-stories-2/ Some of them are very short ( 6 words story challenge) some are about a page long and my stories “Here Lies a Soldier” and “The Letters and the Locket” might eventually turn into a full length novel. I hope you get a chance to read them. Let me know what you think!

    1. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, The Falcon Throne isn’t holding my attention as much as I’d like. Don’t get me wrong, I still think it’s an excellent novel. But I’m craving even some minor resolution to the major plot arc, a small morsel to keep my endurance up. It’s a rather long book!

      1. I am in the process of listening to the audio book of Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson and I kind of feel the same way. And unlike a physical book, you can’t scan through the audio! I even have the playback set 10 1.5 x and it’s still taking foreeeeeeeever!

  2. I have 5 books on Amazon Kindle, one historical fiction, called MiSDirection, a mystery thriller called, Assurance, a holiday read for the older woman, called Harry the Louse and two short stories – Short Fews 1 and 2. Sample chapters of my 3 novels can be found on my website at http://www.richvens.co.uk. I am just about to run some segments of the short stories here on G+, but obviously a good part of the first stories can be found on Amazon’s ‘Look Inside’ feature. If you would like to read those, links can be found on both the website or through my author page: http://www.amazon.com/Richard-G.-Stevens/e/B00IRBT7TO

It’s a novel I’ve been working on for quite some and have started to release chapters that I feel are ready for criticism. I’ve been writing my entire life and would like to release a book at some point in the future no matter how far it may be. I believe in the story that I have created and if I believe in it enough I’m sure other people will like it as well. Hope you enjoy 🙂

  4. I loved your comment on the Daily (W)rite, so I came here to check out your blog. My blog is mostly a personal blog, although there is poetry and some writing. I saw this, and I thought I would add a story I wrote, if you still have time. I tried to keep it at 1000 words. I am not a professional writer, but I have been writing more and more.

I would love a critique. Even in it’s raw form. : ) I kind of loved the story. But, I know it has issues. Either way, really great blog. Glad I found it. -CC

  5. I wish my novel was written already, I would like your opinion about it, but unfortunately it’s not. 😦 But it will be, soon! It’s a YA fantasy action-adventure thing. I really like your blog! Thanks for checking out mine!
