Hi there!
I’m looking for stories to read. If you’ve written something in historical fiction, fantasy, crime (or any other genre you think I’d like) then leave a link to your story in the comments. I’ll drop in and have a read. Maybe others will too!
If you’ve got the time, tell me about you or your writing as well. It doesn’t even have to be fiction, I’m in the middle of reading a seemingly endless novel and in dire need of a break!
Are you a story in your own right? Then just tell me about yourself!
Hi! Here’s an excerpt from my novel: http://davidpphilip.com/2015/01/27/chapter-thirty-an-interesting-choice-of-words-excerpt-from-a-game-for-the-young/.
Hope you like it.

Uh oh, I’m guessing The Falcon Throne is dragging? I’m sending you the link to my short stories page. http://drmegsorick.com/short-stories-2/ Some of them are very short ( 6 words story challenge) some are about a page long and my stories “Here Lies a Soldier” and “The Letters and the Locket” might eventually turn into a full length novel. I hope you get a chance to read them. Let me know what you think!

Yes, The Falcon Throne isn’t holding my attention as much as I’d like. Don’t get me wrong, I still think it’s an excellent novel. But I’m craving even some minor resolution to the major plot arc, a small morsel to keep my endurance up. It’s a rather long book!

I am in the process of listening to the audio book of Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson and I kind of feel the same way. And unlike a physical book, you can’t scan through the audio! I even have the playback set 10 1.5 x and it’s still taking foreeeeeeeever!

I’m working on my second novel in the College of the Crones series, but when I need to write something shorter, I create short stories in the world of my novel. The land of Beautiful is under a curse. It causes rifts in families as women have to choose to take the tonic or live as an ugly crone.
Check out this one-

I have 5 books on Amazon Kindle, one historical fiction, called MiSDirection, a mystery thriller called, Assurance, a holiday read for the older woman, called Harry the Louse and two short stories – Short Fews 1 and 2. Sample chapters of my 3 novels can be found on my website at http://www.richvens.co.uk. I am just about to run some segments of the short stories here on G+, but obviously a good part of the first stories can be found on Amazon’s ‘Look Inside’ feature. If you would like to read those, links can be found on both the website or through my author page: http://www.amazon.com/Richard-G.-Stevens/e/B00IRBT7TO

I’m a budding author trying to get published. Mostly Fantasy and Sci Fi but with a low key steam punk novel in the works too. Most of them are on Wattpad for free. https://www.wattpad.com/user/SerialWordAbuser

It’s a novel I’ve been working on for quite some and have started to release chapters that I feel are ready for criticism. I’ve been writing my entire life and would like to release a book at some point in the future no matter how far it may be. I believe in the story that I have created and if I believe in it enough I’m sure other people will like it as well. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Hey there. Going to take you up on this offer. Here’s a short crime story I did – https://samuelhbirnie.wordpress.com/2015/02/19/my-killer/
I wrote it for a module called ‘Genre & Form’ and that’s the main idea behind it, playing with aspects of genre and form. If you fancy fantasy check out Red Hood in the Short Stories section of my very same WordPress site. I look forward to hearing what you think!

I’m working on a long short story or novella…not sure which one it will be yet…centering around a KGB officer in 1980s Germany. Cold War espionage and such. I’m finishing and posting the rest of the rough draft this week and then will begin revising and putting up the final draft. https://mikecuozzowriting.wordpress.com/

I loved your comment on the Daily (W)rite, so I came here to check out your blog. My blog is mostly a personal blog, although there is poetry and some writing. I saw this, and I thought I would add a story I wrote, if you still have time. I tried to keep it at 1000 words. I am not a professional writer, but I have been writing more and more.
I would love a critique. Even in it’s raw form. : ) I kind of loved the story. But, I know it has issues. Either way, really great blog. Glad I found it. -CC

Thanks for checking out my blog post! I love book club blogs–they’re so much more functional than actual book clubs (for my current life). I’d love for you to check out my novel “The Golden Apple.” There’s a promo going on October 23rd and it’ll be .99 on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Golden-Apple-Faerl-Marie-ebook/dp/B00GDB0IHA/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1444658026&sr=8-1

I wish my novel was written already, I would like your opinion about it, but unfortunately it’s not. 😦 But it will be, soon! It’s a YA fantasy action-adventure thing. I really like your blog! Thanks for checking out mine!
